Sauce Hunter Terms of Use

Effective October 11, 2026

These terms apply to Sauce Hunter: Hot Sauce Log ("Sauce Hunter"), made by Cognito Labs ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you download Sauce Hunter from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

Who can use Sauce Hunter

You must be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for activity on your account.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you add: ratings, notes, photos and sauce details. Your notes and photos are private to you. When you add a sauce to the shared catalog, or your ratings count toward its averages, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display and adapt those details (for example, to merge duplicates) so the catalog works for everyone.

Community rules

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't post content that is hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, illegal, spam or advertising, someone else's personal information, or something you don't have the right to share. Content is checked automatically before it appears. You can report any sauce and block its contributor from the app. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and may suspend or remove accounts that break them.

AI features

Label scanning can misread a label, so check the details before saving. Character cards are AI-generated illustrations, labeled as such, and aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any sauce maker. Heat ratings are opinions, not measurements. Hot sauces can be very hot; use your own judgment.

Sauce Hunter Pro

  • Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed through your Apple Account: $1.99 per month or $14.99 per year (or the local equivalent shown in the app).
  • It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
  • Pro removes ads and lets you unlock sauce cards without watching ads. Features may change over time.

Ads and shopping links

The free version shows ads, and you can watch an optional ad to unlock a sauce's card. Some store links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission when you buy something, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms.

Disclaimers

Sauce Hunter is provided "as is". Catalog information comes from the community and other sources and may be inaccurate. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant we'll tell you in the app, and continuing to use Sauce Hunter means you accept them.
